For one of the world’s leading manufacturers of high-end measurement technology in the field of hardness testing of metallic materials, Data Respons Solutions implemented a rugged PDA system for the next generation of its hardness testers, which was specifically tailored for this application area.

Our customised 5″ handheld solution ensures a precision motorised probe of serial parts based on the UCI hardness testing method. Additional military standard certification 810G (drop, shock, vibration) guarantees perfect functionality under harsh environmental conditions.
Due to our strong know-how in the area of customer-specific solutions and an extensive network of leading technology partners, we immediately selected the right platform on which we could carry out the desired individualisations.

In addition to industrial reliability, our customer’s application required a powerful mobile solution that offers the usability of a modern smartphone and a 100% availability in everyday use by means of a replaceable battery.
The IP65-compliant PDA has a powerful ARM® Cortex™-A53 Octa Core processor, a 2GB LPDDR3 memory and offers a 5″ PCAP touch display (1280 x 720 pixels) with LED backlight and has a luminance of 500 cd/m².
The customised operating system (Android OS) by Data Respons Solutions allows the use of well-known functions from the smartphone consumer area.
Thanks to our proven platform concept, the development time of the industrial handheld was significantly reduced, which was a decisive added value for our client in terms of time-to-market.
